How can we help you?
We encourage our patients to be proactive when it comes to learning about their dental care. Dr. Michael Allen and our team always explain procedures in detail, and we know that there’s a lot to think about. That’s why it’s vital that you share any concerns or questions you may have about your proposed treatment. The best way for us to meet your expectations is to understand what’s important to you.
We’ve gathered a few of the questions our team hears most often and shared them here. You probably have many more of your own, so please call our office and a friendly member of our team will be happy to assist you.
Emergency Dental Services
Yes, we always allow extra time in our schedule to tend to our patients in need of emergency care. Depending on the type of emergency you or your child are experiencing, we’ll make every effort to see you the same day.
What Are Dental Emergencies?
Dental emergencies can be as simple as a loose filling or as complicated as a tooth knocked out during a baseball game. Whatever the case, we urge you to contact our Tucson dental office as soon as possible. There are a number of situations where prompt treatment can make the difference between saving and losing a tooth. It’s especially crucial that we see your kids quickly because we want to keep their beautiful teeth intact as long as possible.
What to Do During a Dental Emergency
Since urgent dental care can be needed after hours, we want you to know we’re always available to take your call. Simply call our regular office number, and you’ll be instructed to leave a message. A member of our professional team will call you back as quickly as possible to talk about your emergency and the steps you can take until you get to our office.
We're equipped to handle most dental emergencies; however, if the injury involves facial trauma or damage to the head or jaw, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately.
As an experienced dental team, we understand how upsetting a dental emergency is and that the only thing on your mind is getting the care and relief you need. At Sabino Hills Family Dentistry, we leave openings in our schedule so we address emergencies, and, in most cases, we can see you the same day, especially if you’re in pain.
What to Do During a Dental Emergency
If you have a situation that’s developing with your oral health, call us right away at (520) 760-6044. You will speak with a team member who knows which questions to ask to find out if we need to see you right away and give you instructions for handling your emergency until you get to our office.
Types of Dental Emergencies
The two most critical dental emergencies are a knocked-out tooth and severe tooth pain that makes it difficult to function normally. Any pain is a symptom of a problem and needs to be addressed. But any pain that makes it difficult to function means that you may be in imminent danger of losing the tooth if we don’t treat it.
If a tooth has been knocked out, we have only a few hours to replace it in the socket successfully. Handle the tooth by the crown only and keep it moist in a container of milk, water, or saliva until you can safely get to our office.
